Being cheap is sometimes an offensive term to other people. It is a good and brilliant idea for everyone to have a budget and be always aware of the way they spend their money. In this article, we are going to show you that cutting back from your budget can actually pay off too. Being frugal to all things is actually a gift that we must also share to others so they will learn how to be frugal too. Actually, being cheap can lead you to save tons of money. Let us now start off with our lists.
- Kids Clothes – We all know that kids grow up so fast now a day so why purchase them expensive clothes? Whether it is cheap or not, our kids can’t tell the difference. The important thing is that they have something to wear. Purchasing kids clothes in a thrift shop is worth it. In the long run, you can sell it if it is still in good condition. Not only you make your kids happy but you can also make a little profit out of it.
- Shoes – We all need shoes and that is one of the things that we all use every single day. Buying cheap shoes from a local thrift store is not a bad thing! If you find some sneakers that are worth $2 then it is a great find then. Shoes that are in good condition will lasts up to 2 to 3 years.
- Spices – Who does not love to cook here? And we want our food to be unique especially when we love to add some spices so that our dish will have a kick. Spices are one of the products that are cheap and can be used in cooking and in baking too. Spices are not hard to find except if you want exotic spices that can only be found in the international markets but nothing to worry as they are not expensive too when you buy pack of those!
- Trash Bags – Buying a bulk pack of trash bag is totally worth it. If you buy a pack of it then it will suffice you probably 6 up to 9 months and it is not bad! More is always better when it comes to necessities like this. You don’t want your trash be thrown everywhere, right? Keeping our house clean will make us spend more and more money so go for the cheaper ones.
- Video Games – To all our gamer readers here! All you have to do is wait for the price to crash. Those limited edition games that we always wanted for so long can now be found in thrift shops for a buck if you are lucky enough.
- Generic Medicines – It has the same effect as the branded ones and it won’t be approved if it is not good for our health. Don’t be shy when you go the pharmacy and ask for its generic brand medicines. This is good for the ones who have a lot of maintenance. For those who buy medicines over the counter, be extra careful and make sure that it is prescribed to you by doctors.
- Furnace Filters – We are all aware that furnace filter must be changed regularly every 4 to 6 months depending on the thickness of it. Buying a pack of it with a cheap price is okay as long as it has a good review. Do not buy used ones.
- Blade Sharpener – For men and women who loves to shave! You can actually buy it for $10! So you don’t have to throw your dull razor when it shows the signs of dulling. Compare it when you buy a pack of razor and it is good for how many uses only.

- Used Items – There is nothing wrong when you purchase used items in thrift shops. They sell it because they don’t need it anymore. The thrift shop sells it because it can still be used by others. So there is no shame in buying cheap items from thrift shops. If you are patient, you can actually find a $1 worth of item that you can also make a profit out of it when you do a little research about that item.
- Reusable Coffee Filters – Oh how everyone loves to drink coffee every morning! Having a coffee filter will make your coffee tastes even better than before and it will have a similar taste to coffees that we buy in the coffee shops. A reusable coffee filter will last long and it will also help you save a lot of money.
- Frozen Foods – Compare it to fresh foods, frozen foods can lasts longer than the fresh ones. The price is also cheaper than the fresh ones. Not unless you own a garden in your home and you can actually get your own fresh foods but what about the ones who do not have a garden? It is not a bad thing when you buy frozen foods. Even if you leave them in the freezer for couple of days it will not go to waste.
Cheap or not cheap it is the same thing. We spend money but in a lesser way and in a budgeted way. A little piece of advice when buying used items, make sure you double check everything in person do not purchase it if you haven’t seen the item in person. You might regret it someday!
