Each family are all preparing for something big and colorful. Can you guess what it is? Yes, you are correct, fireworks! Why do you really want to spend your money on fireworks? Well, my answer to that is simple! It is so satisfying to see your money turned into a wonderful and colorful fireworks also you can’t resist the smile on your little ones when you see the smile on their faces. It is so priceless but guys please do not spend a lot on fireworks!
For today’s topic, we are going to share to you some tips on how to save money on fireworks. You see it does not have to be that extravagant. The important thing is that you celebrated the 4th of July because it is a tradition for over 242 years and counting! So let us start now with our tips!
- Set a goal – Setting a goal or a limit when purchasing fireworks can be a great start. Planning ahead of time is the best and right thing to do. You can actually start on planning now! How many fireworks do you want to display on the 4th of July? How long do you want it to be on air? As you can see the duration of the fireworks depends on the price of the fireworks itself. The trick is that the shorter the duration, the lesser you spend and the smaller the fireworks, the cheaper the price. But it is all up to you and this is just tips guys!
- Comparing prices – The question is, what is your favorite firework? How much do you think it costs? What if there is a similar firework to the other store but the brand and price is way too different than the usual firework that you always buy every year? I am pretty sure you will go for the cheaper once! There is nothing wrong when you compare the prices and make a list of it and in that way, you will have a lot of option. Remember, purchasing a dozen of fireworks is as close to burning your money but with pleasure! Try to visit a minimum of 4 stands and take photos if possible and compare it to the other stands. The more option you have, the lesser your money that will go out in your pocket.
- Coupons – Before the 4th of July, most of the stands and stores who sell fireworks are giving away coupons in order to fasten up their sales. Some of the coupons are displayed in the newspaper. (That is if you still read newspaper now a day!) But anyways, take advantage of that coupon. Coupons are made for people that who want to have fun and at the same time save money. You see coupons come in different varieties as well. If you don’t have any, do not be afraid to ask in the stands for coupons.
- Local Shopping – Shopping for fireworks in your area has never been easier with today’s application. All you have to do is Google for “Firework stands near me” and you will have a bunch of list to choose from. Do not buy fireworks in the big box stores. Oh and when you see a list of stands in your phone, make sure to visit each and every one of them as some of the stores give discounts when you buy bulk items. Others offer an additional firework too! Be friendly and do not be afraid to ask for a discount. Asking them will never hurt you!
- Finale – “500 grams” is the other term that Americans use for finale fireworks and it is known as a waste of money. For residential fireworks, 500 grams is the allowed legal limit of fire powder that you can use at home. You do not have to spend a total of $75 for a finale firework as it is not practical to spend that big and just burn it afterwards. The best fireworks to purchase are the smaller ones. Yes it is smaller but please, think of the safety of your entire family as well. The same story with the re-loadable firework as well. If you want some advices on which specific firework that is fit to your budget, do not hesitate to ask the stand attendant as they will gladly serve you.
- Military OFF – To all our beloved military, thank you so much for giving us the 4th of July! Okay, do you have a family member that is part of the military? If yes then let them purchase the fireworks! Military officers get amazing discounts in all fireworks and all they have to do is to present their ID’s and or any proof that they are military personnel. Most of the stands will offer 10% up to 15% discount on all fireworks. Please note that they do not display the discount sign for the military. In order to get that discount, ask them for any and I am pretty sure they will be honest with their answers.
- Bundled Fireworks – Buying a fireworks that is worth $200-$300 is a lot and some of the stand owners do not want to give discounts because they always think that you will sell it to other people as well and become a third party seller. Be honest to them and tell them why you purchased that plenty amount of fireworks and do not be afraid to ask for discount. Make sure that you will give them a price that is reasonable as well. Selling fireworks might be fun but it is very hard due to the peak is not every month. Give them a price that they cannot resist as well.
- Illegal Fireworks – Guys, be careful when buying fireworks and be suspicious as well. Selling illegal fireworks usually occurs online and not on the stands that you can see in your area. I am not familiar with the names of the illegal fireworks but please be aware of it. If the government will catch you, the simple possession of illegal fireworks is felony. Keep an eye for those illegal fireworks and be safe!
- Firework Stands – Buying your fireworks in the stand is cheaper than in the ones sold in the malls. We all know that stands are set up as temporary outlets and they have lower costs as well which allow them to sell fireworks for a very low price. These stands also have a dozen of variety of fireworks which offers discounts when you buy them in bulk.
- Group it – If you live with a friendly neighborhood and your family has no issues with them, well lucky for you! You can always ask them to join you when organizing a fireworks display alongside with your entire neighborhood. In that way, you will have to share the expenses with them so the entire neighborhood can watch too. Since the display is combined together, there is no need for you to buy multiple of the same fireworks. If I were you, I’d better start talking to the entire neighborhood and plan everything with them!
- Community Display – Do you really want to save money on the 4th of July? My suggestion for you is go to your community president and ask them if they have plans for fireworks display on the big day. If they do, expect more extravagant and bigger fireworks display! Most of the community do this and it is free to watch as well and it is open to the public too.
- Last minute shopping – Just like any other occasions, the fireworks also has a so called “Last minute shopping” where the prices are dropped especially when you buy them in bulk. Sometimes, it is worth the wait to everything that you want to purchase. We don’t need to rush everything and buy fireworks immediately! Try purchasing 1 day before the big day and you will see the discounts that they offer and I am pretty sure you can’t resist it.
- Neighborhood Display Fireworks – If you are in a tight budget but you badly want to see some fireworks, go to your neighborhood and celebrate the 4th of July with them. Do a potluck or offer some food that you want to cook for your entire family and your neighbor’s family. You don’t have to be shy when you approach them. All of us have gone through rough times and they will surely understand it. Let’s admit it, not all of us could afford to buy fireworks for this coming 4th of July. Be practical and follow these easy steps!
